Best Practice

I presented the content in this course as a lecture in a Sales Training Leadership Board meeting. It was meant to inform and spark dialogue around creating learning content with adult education best practices in mind. I was approached by several team leaders to present to their teams, as many of their trainers and ID professionals did not have a background in education. I created this course to be used as a reference and as a guide on learning theory, instruction strategy, and instructional design.

Onboarding

When I began my role as the Training and Enable coordinator one of the goals for our team was to create an onboarding program for new account managers. 8 months after the goal was set, we have gone from no onboarding content to a comprehensive onboarding plan. Sales Development Managers and even new leadership now complete the 90 day onboarding process through our team. There are team-specific, role-specific trainings with region specific training as the next hurdle.

eLearning

This course on Price Realization was created using rea; scenarios from Account Managers in the Semiconductor, Materials Science, and Life Sciences Business Units. I am a huge proponent of example-based learning.

Learning Management Systems

I am currently the LMS Administrator for our Division. We use Docebo and have over 2300 users registered from our Division in the system. When I started the MSD page had 1 vLive training session that was update monthly. Since then Our page has grown into a homepage with 9 linked pages. These pages allow for courses to be organized into onboarding content, sales training content, and content specific to the Business Units. There are currently 90 live courses on everything from the DiSC personality Assessment to Cryo-Electron Tomography.

Live Training

My philosophy on delivering training is simple. Well-organized, well-executed training can happen in a physical space, a virtual room, or in a hyflex/synchronous hybrid setting. Secondly, learning should take place in a joyful environment because learning is an astounding, exciting, and beautiful process!
